Sally Strutt MA is an historical researcher with a background in national libraries and archives. Following a successful career at the British Library, Sally started her own business in historical research, Mullion Historical Services. Combining her knowledge of archives and original documents with a love of exploring the past, Sally researches and writes estate and house histories – and more.
Sally can be commissioned to research the history of landed estates and houses of all sizes and ages. She also researches businesses and schools and will help with your family history. And she can organise, preserve and list precious archives of original material. Each commission also benefits from a unique streamlined approach to Sally’s network of professional contacts:
- An architectural historian provides specialist input on the buildings themselves, enhancing the wider investigation
- Professional photography captures your house and estate at its best and showcases any restorations or improvements
- The finished report, booklet or book is designed and brought to print with elegance and style by experts in the field.
Sally works mainly in the midlands and south-east of England, but is always happy to consider commissions further afield.
Past clients include country house and estate owners, a sought-after prep school, people researching their family history and the history of their family businesses, others with original documents to understand and preserve for posterity.
“We decided to delve into the past, and it was a stroke of luck to find Sally Strutt who applied an academic discipline and rigour to her research whilst retaining an interesting storyline to her work” – Francesca Schwarzenbach
